Sad Things I Bask In

I can always tell when the internet game of Googling your name followed by the word 'needs' is back in vogue (as explained and demonstrated in this 2007 post). Want to know how I know? It's because my blog suddenly gets an explosion of hits that probably rivals the traffic received by intelligent bloggers. Or that of websites that feature lots of pictures of doughnuts. Whichever is more powerful.

Due to the name of my blog, when you Google 'Jen Needs', my site tops the list of 44 MILLION relevant pages on the interwebs. This is my crowning achievement in life and I'm going to roll around in it as if keywords were dollar bills and I was Demi Moore in Indecent Proposal.

I have officially clenched the title of SEO Queen Among Needy Jens. Take that, Aniston! Take that, Love Hewitt! And ESPECIALLY take that, Quackenbush!

ok, must be a dork, or not enough of one, I hadn't heard of this game before...but just had to. Googled "Kim needs"...
- to take off the gloves
- help big time
- to mind her own business
- a super effort to make cut
- to talk
I like the variety, probably because my name can also be male, and #6 was "a refreshment", I think I'll go for that one :)

Hello! I'm a new reader, a fellow Jen with one 'n,' and I am commenting to 'fess up that yes, I discovered your blog by way of Googling "Jen needs."

There. I'm out. But I like your blog, so I might just hang around here sometimes.

Ciao!

Hello my fellow Jen. Thanks for the note! I think I'll check your blog out not too. :)

I'm another Jen who was dorky enough to google "Jen needs". Glad to know I'm not the only Jen out there who does stuff like that. Being the blog addict I am, I think I might have to stick around and see what another Jen in the world is doing.

yep, another jen googling what i need... glad i did though because your blog is cracking me up.
and about the use of the double N. i've never used it. hate it actually. i always find that people i'm not all that close to use the second n when spelling my name - it's kinda like people calling me "jen" instead of "jennifer"...i hate it because it's usually the people i'm not close to who are the ones who do that - i've decided (or at least to make myself feel better, i've convinced myself) that they just wish they were close enough friends with me that it's okay to call me by a nickname...but it isn't and the joke's on them because the people closest to me know i prefer to be called "jennifer."

love your blog. i'm bookmarking you. it's nice to find another "jenN" hater! :)
